The longest winter
By Jerre Lynn

May the brilliant colors of Spring dazzle your eyes,
and round-out the blues of your hormones!
May the sweet scent of Lilly's open your soul
to a new day of living, yet to behold.

May you pack up the parkas, gloves and scarves,
Be done with the turkey and all that you've carved.
Pull out the tank tops and shorts from your drawers
and get to the garden and play with the dwarves!

This winter's the longest I've ever endured,
With snow that keeps flying and rain that is poured.
It's frik'en April 14th ,
and they're calling for more!

Good Lord have mercy, the roads are so poor,
I swear I'll be walking if we get any more.
But today I saw rainbows between black clouds and thunder,
So where is the gold, I'm beginning to wonder.....?

This l o n g e s t winter of two thousand six,
Is the one we'll remember with all of our pix.
Preceded by Hurricane Katrina, Donner and Blitzen
If this winter continues-I want a new kitten!
