Astrology Forecast for May, 2011 “I want to get off this roller coaster” was an email I received last week and believe it speaks a truth living in the hearts of many these days. In one sense, the analogy of a roller coaster captures many of the feelings we collectively are experiencing; sudden shifts and changes that are unexpected bringing us up and giving us hope one day and dropping us down into the depths of fear and anxiety the next. There is also the nervous tension and anxiousness of standing in the unknown, feeling powerless against forces beyond our control whether they are our intimate partners, our economy or government, or natural disasters. This is the changing of the ages, the clearing of a past reality that will continue not only through the month of May but beyond 2012, as the nature of ourselves and our planet transforms.
However, another aspect of the roller coaster ride is the thrill and excitement of being thrust forward into the future, knocked around, yelling and screaming, totally out of control, and then coming to a stop, safe, sound, and able to breathe again. For in those moments we experience ourselves, our core, our essential nature, in a different way than in our normal mundane existence. At this time in our planetary evolution it behooves us to trust this roller coaster called earth like we trust the amusement park roller coaster. It was designed and constructed by infinite intelligence, it is made of, and has everything we could possibly ever need to support us, and it is intended to expose ourselves to ourselves in new, ever changing and continually intensifying ways. Now within that roller coaster ride there is a beginning, middle, and an end. I spoke last January of how we had been slowly and laboriously climbing through 2010 up to the peak. As of late January we made it over the top and began the descent, building momentum through February, March, and April. Indeed, these last few months have been like standing in a wind storm that is so strong it is blowing all our clothes off and possibly more as we get down to the bare bones of just what we’re made of. Now the stellium (3 or more planets together) in Aries that took us through the month April doesn’t disappear immediately, but by mid-month we will see flat straightaway lying ahead to give us pause for reflection and assimilation of the whirlwind we have been going through. By May 15th, Mercury, Venus, and Mars will have all moved into the fixed earth sign of Taurus the Bull. We’ll be shifting from the dynamic, firey, impulsive burst into “the new” toward a time of grounding, settling, gathering our resources, and developing new capacities to either manifest the new person or vision that we have glimpsed, or survive the changes that the external world has seemingly thrust upon us. The more we are able to take total responsibility for the reality (feelings, perceptions, thoughts, and desires) we are experiencing, the more able and prepared we will be to create a new one. This month will bring opportunities to establish new sources of support, love, money, and strength but it will be up to us as individuals to reach out for them like the brass ring on a merry-go-round. We are moving out of victim consciousness and into “mini-god/dess” consciousness, and the sooner we realize that it is up to us, and that no family, religion, government, corporation, food, or drug is going to give us a “reality for free”, the better chance we have of creating a world of our choosing. Taurus is about self-reliance, it is about building, it is about containing, and about sustaining. The difference this year, is that even though we will have a strong contingency of planets in this earth sign, the very nature of matter, time, and space is changing. There is and will continue to be, a greater flexibility, unpredictability, and mutability to our “reality” which can be liberating and exhilarating as well as terrifying and fear producing, depending upon your own core beliefs, stage of evolution, mindset, and spiritual attunement. Keeping this in mind, it is best to stay alert and awake through this month and not be lulled into thinking that since there is a slow down things are going to return “back to normal”…. That will never happen. Rather, take the latter half of May as a break between rounds of match, a short rest period to get a sip of water, wipe your brow, and get ready to go back into the ring of life. To go a step further, the beautifully artistic and sensual appetites of Taurus lend themselves well to bodily rejuvenation, artistic pursuits, body building, and love making. It is a time when simple pleasures are ideally suited to bring us back into appreciation, gratitude, and harmony with our bodies and nature. In terms of relationships, we are still in the middle of the roller coaster ride as Saturn will remain in Libra (sign of “the other”) through October of 2012. After that he moves into Scorpio which will take relationship to a whole “deeper”level for a couple more years! No, the challenge to see ourselves, be ourselves, and live our truth without rocking the boat is darn near impossible. Our identities are getting restructured from the bottom up and since our relationships mirror that change (x2) they too are radically being altered and the way that we are with each other needs to evolve. That means new relationships, new ways of doing relationship, new conversations, experiences, models, and structure to existing relationships. The key from now one will be the truth, the WHOLE truth, and nothing but the truth or you’re bound for failure. All in all, if you have made it through the last couple months and are still ready, willing, and able to participate in this extravaganza called life, this month will bring great opportunity for you. If you want to stop this train and get off, you’ll have that opportunity also but you may be left at the station if you drag too long. For those who long for the good ‘ol days all I can say is resistance is futile. One thing is for certain, it is a time to make practical, financial, and physical changes on all levels, be they vocation, relationship or household. It is a month when, if you go beyond self-doubt, trust yourself, your senses, and your connection to spirit, you can emerge with everything you’ll need to build and carry you through the next 10 months. by Tom Lescher, New Paradigm Astrology |
