Dear Friends
Hi! Winter is here. The nights are longer, giving more time to reflect on inner values. You are nudged deeper and deeper into your psyche where you have more time to consider why you are here. This is a time to take inventory of all that you have accomplished this year. Winter is the time to think about the seeds you want to plant this coming spring. KIDNEYS In the understanding of the five elements, your kidneys and bladder are the officials that deal with the element of water—and your feelings. When your kidneys are functioning well you have great vitality. You can think with great clarity about what is important in your life. Your memory serves you well. You have the ability to think powerfully about your life. You believe that you will always endure. The kidney’s end organs, your ears, grant you the capacity to truly hear what others are saying. Your kidneys gather the logic and wisdom of your spirit, which you experience as feelings. Your first feeling about something or someone is a spiritual preview of how you will feel when you come to fruition with that particular cycle. For example, the moment you consider going to an event, your first feeling is your spirit’s preview of how you will feel when you are physically at that event. From the perspective of your spirit, an event that could possibly happen in the future is in no way separate from this moment. The moment you consider it, the spiritual reel of that event exists. Then moment-by-moment you fill in the frames leading up to that event. Your feeling based intuition functions similarly in the cycles of people you meet. Notice your feelings when you first meet someone, and how accurately those feelings predict how you will feel about him or her when your association comes to fruition. BLADDER All feelings can be classified as either love or fear. Your bladder feels (expresses) those feelings. When a fear comes up, and you feel it, without attaching any thoughts to it, the fear fills out your energy field and releases. It is gone forever. The more intense the fear, the faster it releases. Love-based feelings that you go inside and experience build up in your bodymind like money in the bank. For kidney health, you must feel your fears. No exceptions. Fears you do not express (feel) begin building up. They diminish your vitality, render your thoughts impotent and further diminish the power and clarity of how you think about your world. You have power over every fear—but only when you feel the feeling. Most people intellectualize their fears. When you “think” your fears, every thought acts like the next grappling hook. Each additional thought more firmly binds the fear to your energy field, making it appear permanent. Thinking about negative feelings only intensifies them. Every thought you attach to a particular fear gives it more power over you—over your life. Depression, worry or any other fear has no more power over you than what you give it. If you simply feel the fear, and do not attach rational thoughts to it, you have the power. The fear simply floats up out of your energy field and is gone—for good. In all of your daily encounters the wisest policy is to feel your feelings, and then respond. Imagine someone disappoints you. The act of feeling the disappointment connects you with the wisdom of your spirit. This is one of the prime mechanisms of staying spiritually aware. Since your spirit has easy connection with that person’s spirit, what comes through you to speak is the combined wisdom of your spirit and the other person’s spirit. What you say to him or her will probably change their life in some fundamental way. Your spirit lives in a sea of bliss. Bliss is its natural state. As you express more of your fears, you gain greater access to that bliss. The bliss naturally bubbles up like a spring in your normal daily life. I hope this time of contemplation gives you the wisdom to pick wonderful seeds to plant next spring. Bless you, John Mayfield, Doctor of Chiropractic (530) 272-8839 |
